All patent attorneys are admitted as patent attorneys in the Federal Republic of Germany and are members of the Patentanwaltskammer (Patent Attorneys' Association). In addition, they are admitted as representatives before the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market (trade marks, designs, models) (European Trade Mark Attorneys). Patent Attorneys who are also admitted as a representative before the European Patent Office (European Patent Attorneys) are also a member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi).
The following professional rules apply to German Patent Attorneys: Patentanwaltsordnung, (BGBL I, 1966, p. 557, as amended by BGBL. I 2001, p. 3656) and Berufsordnung der Patentanwälte (Mitt. der Patentwälte 1997, p. 243 et sqq.) as well as the Codes of Professional Conduct of the FICPI and the epi (epi-Information 2/2001, p. 75).
Our attorney-at-law is admitted in Germany to all District Courts. She is a member of the following Chamber of Lawyers, which is the competent supervisory authority: Rechtsanwaltskammer Köln, Riehler Straße 30, 50668 Köln. German attorneys-at-law are subject to
